As the Senior Backend QA Specialist, you will join the client’s Payments Baltic team to strengthen testing capacity where it is needed most. QA is currently the bottleneck in two of the teams, and the company is looking for experienced specialists who can bring connected competence across the full payments landscape. You will take full-stack ownership of quality – functional, regression, manual and automated testing – with in-depth verification of all payment flows and processes.
What you will do:
• Perform in-depth functional, regression, manual and automated testing across all payment flows and processes.
• Focus primarily on backend testing – services, integrations, data and payment processing logic – with occasional UI testing.
• Design, build and maintain automated tests using Java and Selenium.
• Break down complex and abstract problems in payment processing into clear, effective test approaches.
• Verify payment processes end to end, ensuring correctness, reliability and compliance with banking standards.
• Lead and mentor other QA engineers when the situation requires, sharing knowledge across teams.
What you need:
• 7-10 years of experience as a QA consultant or engineer in a senior role.
• Proven, hands-on Payments domain knowledge in banking – an absolute must.
• Very senior, practical and fluent experience with functional, regression, manual and automated testing of payment flows.
• Practical, proven Java knowledge.
• Test automation experience with Selenium.
• Strong backend testing skills and the ability to work independently on complex tasks.
• An open-minded, outgoing personality and motivation to mentor and lead others.
Bonus if you have:
• Experience with UI testing.

You report to the Group CFO, with a dotted line to the entity's Managing Director. At the start, the function is you and two outsourced providers: the first year is designing controls and writing procedures, not running an established team. Part-time during the license phase, full-time once licensed.
